sudo nano /etc/fstab Add to the fstab file the following entries, adjusting the IP address and the NFS share name. sudo chown plex:plex -R /media sudo chmod 555 -R /media Setup the shares to mount at boot up. This will create a new Linux desktop session. I do this step after installing Plex Media Server because Plex creates a user/group that we assign permissions to the shares. These warnings can typically be ignored- click yes to continue on to the login screen:įinally you will be asked whether to create a new virtual desktop or a custom connection- choose the former, “create new virtual desktop”. If this is the first time you have connected to this host you may be presented with a warning: This will present the “Recent connections” screen where you can now open this newly created connection. Select your desired installation location or leave it as it by default and click Next. Click continue and name the connection- this name isn’t important and the default is usually fine.Ĭlick “done” here. Accept the agreement and click Next once more. Again, use the default (“Don’t use a proxy”). Which will take you to the “Proxy” configuration. Leave the other options as-is (port 4000 with “use UDP”) and click “continue” to get to the “Authentication” configuration. “rhino01”, and “rhino02” are the other options here: You may refer to the section Running FreeNX on an alternate ssh port in part I, since it works similarly (enabling and opening the alternate port, etc). Clicking the “new” button will take you through a wizard for creating this new connection:įor “protocol”, use the default (NX) and click the “continue” button.įor “host” you need to select one of the rhino nodes- don’t use the “rhino” alias. Like freenx-setup, nomachine-setup has an option to set up NoMachine server to listen on an alternate ssh port -p ( -port ). If this is the first time opening the client, you will have no existing connections and will need to create a new one. Choose the version for your OS and follow the instructions provided by NoMachine. Installation of the NoMachine client starts with download of the installer from NoMachine. NoMachine provides a Linux desktop session via the NoMachine client without having to run X11 servers on your desktop. Updated: AugEdit this Page via GitHub Comment by Filing an Issue Have Questions?
